I am exactly where I need to be in this journey

This month, my co-worker and I decided to challenge ourselves to a 30 day yoga streak (I must say: she is KILLIN IT and is my inspiration). I’ve done this once before and stressed myself out (how ironic, right?). I was so hung up on staying on track that I didn’t take time to enjoy the flow and listen to my body. We are almost half way through our challenge and I am really loving it. I’m focusing on what my body needs, focusing on stretching out and progressing my practice a little further each day. I’m focusing less on the length of my practice and more on the quality of my practice. It’s so easy for us to get inside our own heads and discourage ourselves. Whenever that happens, just repeat to yourself, “I am exactly where I need to be in life. This is where I am in my journey and I am enjoying my place in this progress.” Every day is a new opportunity to grow, even if it is just a little bit of growth. At the beginning of this month, I couldn’t hold down dog for more than 5 seconds. Yesterday, I held it for a whopping 7 SECONDS. Growth.

Nutrition is key to a healthy lifestyle but so is self-care. Recognize that the mind is connected to the body. Mental health contributes to physical health, so don’t ignore it.

  1. You’re my inspiration to stick to this yoga challenge! So proud of you for focusing on yourself and not letting it stress you out. To me, yoga is a way to improve on myself and each time I go into it with an open mind, it helps me to relax! Glad to do this yoga month with you!
